READY SET GO

Tomorrow is my "big day". I think I am ready. I have my food planned out to take to work with me. I have points left to have some supper after I do my workouts. Yes, feeling really good. I still need to find the instructions for my HRM so that I can try to set it so that it will calculate the calories I burn when working out. I always use the machines for a guideline. Since I will be doing the 30 Day Shred DVD I would like to know roughly how many calories I am burning. I still have to go to the gym during this 30 day challenge. Have to get my 12 workouts in to get the insurance discount!!!!

My plan will be to do the DVD first then hit the gym right after. After all I will be all sweaty, why shower twice!!! haha

Tomorrow my food will consist of a Blueberry smoothie for breakfast made with the Greek blueberry yogurt, fresh blueberries and skim milk, it comes out to 6pts, but the yogurt is higher in protein. A tuna burger on a deli flat, a slim fast bar, dried apples and cherry tomatoes!!!

Ready, Set, Go!!!!!

Preparing for Sept 1st!

As I stated in my last post I am starting with a clean slate on Sept 1st!!! I want to be better at healthy eating and exercise. I can do it, I will be prepared!!!

What have I done to prepare, where should I start? For some reason I am getting my beer fix out of the way. I have drank beer the last 8 nights in a row and I am sure I will have some tonight. Am I proud of this, not really, but it's not like it has been a case a night, more like 3-4. There was Shantel's wedding, time with friends and family and then Woodbury days.

Then there is the food, we have some chips and crap left from the trip so I have been finishing that up!! This would also include the bag of chex mix.

So that is the bad part of preparing for Wednesday the 1st!! Here is the good part, I bought a couple new workout outfits ( wouldn't have had to if the others fit better), I bought a 90- day food and fitness journal, that means that I have to track what I eat and what my workouts are like. It even has a place for strength training, how many reps and pounds!!! Truly needed that!!!!. I have been trying to plan out some meals. I hate this part, I am not good at it. I will forge on with that. My plan it to follow the Weight Watchers plan with all the information I already have and not rejoin.

My downfall is breakfast I hate eating so early!!!! I am thinking smoothies will be the way to go or a protein bar. I would skip it all together if I wasn't in the " eat healthy mode". I am also going to try and give up Dt Mt Dew. I didn't even buy any yesterday when I was at the store.
What I did buy when I was there was an eggplant. I have no idea how to cook it or what it tastes like but I will soon find out. I am hoping to hit the farmers market at the Y tomorrow. I want to get some apples!!! Sweet Sixteen's or Connell Reds are my all time favorite!!!!!!

I have also found a blog http://www.livesmilerun.com.She is doing a 30 day challenge with Jillian Micheal's 30 day shred. I went to Target yesterday to checkout/buy the DVD and left without even looking at it. That was my whole purpose of going there, I did get my other stuff though. I will go back today. I really want to do the challenge, I am just not good with DVD's or commitment like that. I can get myself to the gym daily but that is somehow different for me. I do know that I need to change it up so this might be just what I need!!!! I need to decide soon, she will post me as a participant if I do!!!!

I also plan to blog daily even if it is just two lines, i think it will help me!!! Off to Target and to plan some meals for the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vacation

We leave for vacation tomorrow!!! Exciting!! I did not meet my goal to lose anymore weight before the wedding. Am I happy about this? No not really. However the scale has stayed the same and I am happy about that. I look at the Prior Fat Girls blogs everyday. They make some great points as do the people who leave comments. It is so nice to be able to relate with other people, along with that it is nice that people can put that personal information out there for the world to see.
My goal for Sept 1st, (I return to work on Aug 30) is to start the month out right. I don't want to do things half ass anymore. I already workout 4-5 times a week but I hardly ever do weights. I NEED TO ADD THIS IN, ISN'T IT OBVIOUS THAT WHAT I AM DOING IS NOT WORKING!!!!!! I also really need to plan my meals. I know this works for me, but I get lazy!! Come on what else do I have to do that takes up so much of my time? NOTHING!! I would really like to write down everything that I eat, but for some reason that overwhelms me. Why? I don't know. Believe me it is not because I make a bad choice and would have to write it down, I tell people all the crap I eat. What I do is workout really hard and then think I am hungry and eat whatever I want. After all I did just workout!!! So when I bust my ass for an hour or and hour and half doing cardio I eat up every calorie I burned in about 15-20 minutes!!!!!! Does this make sense. Of course it doesn't!!!!!! One would think I would have learned by now not to do this. NOT!!! I think September will be a very good learning month for me!!!!

9 in a row

I have been to the gym 9 days in a row!!! Hoo-ray Hoo-ray!!! I wish we weren't going home next week so that I could continue on this path!! Tonight when I was working out I ran into one of the instructors from the Y, she teaches at both gyms. She said hi and started to leave. She turned around and said " Why haven't I seen you in Body Combat yet" Me, " it scares me" She said " it's not that bad, you can do it,it is a full body workout" then she adds that she is teaching on Sunday at 4:15.
I did tell her that I would try and come on Sunday so that is my goal to actually GO!!!! It will be nice to change up my routine a bit anyway. I did go to Body Pump on Monday, it was a good workout, hadn't been there in a long time. I did 65 minutes on the elliptical tonight and then some weight machines. My eating has been on track for the most part. I did have Arby's yesterday, not the best choice but not the worst! I need to find a way for the scale to move this week, it seems to be stuck AGAIN!!!!

Ok I am not one to judge bigger people when they work out, good for them to be doing something, however I do seem to judge what they wear. Tonight this very large lady was biking, she had on lime green stretch pants that you could totally see through, granny panties and all, by all that would mean fat rolls, dimples and whatever else. I am so sorry for judging this lady but really, those are not the pants for you. Honestly I almost threw up!!!

I have been doing pretty good with eating and working out since Tuesday. I am really working hard on portion control and trying to eat more fruits and veggies. I have had Lean Cuisines for lunch the past couple of days. Last night for supper I made myself a Tuna Burger. It was really good, I will definitely have it again. Of course I had to downsize the recipe a little but it worked just fine. I used a 2.6 pkg of plain tuna, I crushed 2 pieces of low fat bread, I put in a few sprinkles of shredded cheese and about a teaspoon of lite 3 cheese ranch dressing. Now the egg that was hard I put it in a bowl and spooned in just a little. I knew I needed it to make it stick together. I did not put onion or olives in. I did cook it in olive oil but next time I think I will just spray the pan with Pam. I did not use all the bread crumbs I made. Mine made 2 small burgers which I ate with no bun, tomato slices, and red and yellow pepper strips. I also finished some green beans that I had at lunch. I added a half a wedge of laughing cow cheese. That stuff does not melt!!!!

Bolder Burgers
Ingredients:2 (4.5 oz.) pouches StarKist Tuna Creations®, Herb & Garlic
1 cup bread crumbs, divided
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup non-fat ranch salad dressing
1/4 cup sliced green onion
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tbsp. olive oil Directions:
Combine Tuna Creations®, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, cheese, salad dressing, green onion and egg in medium bowl; mix well. Form into four patties; coat each side with remaining 1/2 cup bread crumbs. Heat oil in non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 3 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 4

I did go to the DQ last night and to my surprise they now have a mini blizzard. I am guessing it is about 8oz, it comes in a small cup that looks similar to a Styrofoam coffee cup. It was the perfect size. I don't know the calories, I am sure it is still high but at least you have a smaller option now. I figured it was ok to have that since I had had a yogurt for breakfast 110 cal, a LC for lunch 290 cal, half a can of green beans 30 cal a cup of grapes, whatever they are and then the tuna burger for supper, which I know that the pack of tuna was 80 cals. Not sure about the bread and dressing but all in all I didn't have that many calories for the day. I did 40 min on the elliptical and did a half hour of boxing when I got home.

I will do well as long as I can not eat everything in site when I get home from work!!! That is my downfall!! I had a goal of 10lbs before Shantel's wedding, at this point that would be 5lbs a week. For me I an not sure that is doable but I will stick with what I am doing and be happy for whatever the scale says unless it goes up!! haha
