I e-mailed my dr for some weight loss advice and all I get out of her is to try taking the over the counter diet pill Alli, this from a dr? Are you kidding me? I am going to pass on that, If I want a piece of pizza I don't want to have to know where the nearest bathrooms are on my 10 minute car ride home. Won't work for this girl, been there, done that, not to be repeated!!! I am going to look for a different dr and see what they have to say! Until then I will watch what I eat and exercise!! Gotta love it!!
On a positive note this weekend I made Turkey chili and froze it, and meatballs, which as I am posting I am making rice so that I can mix with the meatballs, and some salsa for a delectable lunch tomorrow!! I also cooked the chicken up for the enchiladas we had tonight!!! Sure made making supper a piece of cake. Oh I made Angel food cake this weekend as well. Along with all this I cleaned veggies, sweet peppers, pea pods and I have a jicima to cut up!!! I think I am really going to try and make things on the weekends so that they are all ready to go during the week!! Healthy and fast gotta love that!! The recipe for the Chicken Enchiladas is on the Skinnyweek.com site. I have also become a fan of the Yoplait smoothies. They are in the freezer section kind of spendy, $3 something but it will make 2 8oz glasses and all you have to do is add a cup of skim milk. I have been making them for breakfast and adding some protein powder!!! I also tried making "Skittles" you pour sugar free dry jello on top of red grapes and freeze!!! I think you have to "savor" them to get them to taste like a skittle!! Sydney and I like them. Skinnyweek.com once again! Last "goodie" for the weekend that I found was Skinny Cow Strawberry Cheesecake icecream in a single serve container. 150 calories and I think it is 2 ww points. They have different flavors as well, got them at Cub for $1.00!!!! It was a productive weekend!!!!

What option should I choose?
I am so fricking frustrated with my weight loss right now I could just scream. I put all this hard work in at the gym and do a pretty good job of monitoring what I eat and still no loss!!!! Here is a super big kicker. I finished the Get Fit program at the Y!! Here are the results!!!!!! Wait for it............... I GAINED 6LBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not even kidding you. It was suppose to be lose 10lbs in 10 weeks, I guess I shot that theory right out of the water!!!! Oh it gets better. I LOST INCHES AND MY BODY FAT WENT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now normally that would be something to be thankful and grateful for, but how can I when my clothes don't fit any better and the number on the scale went up!!!!!!!!!!!!! If purging wasn't so bad for your teeth I think I would try it!! The coach is seriously at a loss with me, she is baffled. Welcome to the club!!!
Jackie signed up to run a 10k in May the half marathon was to much in to short of a time. Guess who needs to sign up next???????
I am going to take my short vacation have fun and try and decide what my next plan of attack is going to be!!!! What "new" diet thing will I spend my money on next LOL!!! I think I will come up with a "Shelia Harper plan that will work" "Lose 6 dress sizes in 6 weeks", " Go from a size 14 to a size 4 in just a few months" I might as well try and make some money off this deal, everyone else is!!!

Rain Rain Go Away
I just looked at my last post and it was over 2 weeks ago, not good. I really have a hard time going to the gym when it is rainy and icky out. We were gone over the weekend so no gym those days. I went on Monday in the morning and had a great workout then back on Monday night for my class. Honestly I must say that class is one of the biggest wastes of 99.00 that I have ever spent on weight loss and exercise. The class is totally not what they make it out to be, there is suppose to be 8 people in the class and the only night there were 8 was the very 1st night. Since then it has been about 4 or 3. 3 people have lost weight the most is a 5lb loss the rest just 2 and 3 and myself a big fat 0!!!! I did tell the trainer I was disappointed in the class. Of course they want to sell you training packages to get you on the right track, but sorry I am going to have to pass!!! We did get a kettle bell and TRX demonstration and got to do both. I think I could really learn to LOVE kettle bells. It is a combination of cardio and strength so that is good. Guess what you have to pay extra for both of these classes!!! I might consider kettle bells in the future. The difference with those and dumb bells is how the weight is proportioned. Makes sense. I am still waiting for Paul to mail me my plan that he worked out for me. Hopefully he will get it to me my the end of the week.
My plan is to have good workouts this weekend!!! It is suppose to be nice out so maybe I can even get a walk in outside!!!!!
As far as eating, I hate that part!! I will try to keep on track, I need to drink more water that is for sure!!! I really want to move my ticker tape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rethinking the plan
I put my ticker tape on my page so that I could see it move!!! Noticed it hasn't moved!!! Pisses me off! I worked out with Paul this past weekend and I am now just waiting for him to send me the plan that he comes up with. I did most of the things he showed me at the gym tonight and did 40 minutes on the elliptical. I know that I don't have the best eating habits but it is like I told my Get Fit coach, I am eating within my calorie range, I just don't make the best choices to get there. Starting tomorrow, Thursday February 25th I am going to try and not drink dt mt dew. Doesn't sound like much but for me this is a huge trigger to eat, have a pop, have to eat is like my slogan. I haven't had that much water the past few days either. I have also decided that I am going to start signing up for over time at work. My problem time is right after work, I don't eat much during the day so at 3 when I get home I think I need to eat everything in sight. I stayed at work today and got a half hour of ot then went to a union meeting until 4. When I got home I had a stomachache but that didn't stop me from polishing off a bag of cheetos, no, not a big bag but the 99 cent one. Stupid because I knew these would make me get the runs, always do, and they did. Now that I am feeling really guilty and my stomach is empty I will go to the gym. I think it is my brain that is miss firing not my glute's. Why do I do such stupid shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ready for more stupid crap, I worked out, then went to caribou for a caramel high rise, only a small one, not that it makes a difference. My brain must have been shut off when I pulled that stunt!!! Honestly I am sick of having negative posts and sick of not seeing results. So let me let tomorrow be my big day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has to be good my boss is on vacation!!!!!!!!! BTW, I am officially out of the crap food that I like to snack on, that should help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Training Zones
We are on week 5 of the Get Fit program at the Y. This should be very exciting as it is the half way point. Well, let me tell you it is not. I haven't lost any weight doing the program. I put my food into the Vitabot system and do my workouts like I am suppose to. Well almost since I was sick for almost 2 weeks I didn't really work out nor did I eat that much and guess what? I still did not lose weight.
On Monday we learned about interval training and heart rate zones. We did a little test of these on the treadmills. She told us to walk at a pace where we could walk for a long time. I chose 4.0, she said that was to fast for me so I slowed it down to 3.7. We did this for about 5 minutes. She then had us increase the speed or incline to where we could still walk but it was a little harder, I put it at 4.0 we stayed there for 5 minutes, then we increased it again for 5 minutes, I did 5.5, lastly she had us go as hard as we could for 30 seconds I did 7.5. It was hard to judge our heart rates because the machines wouldn't measure it on the hand things they have and we didn't have heart rate monitors (I forgot mine at home). So she based it on our exertion level. For me it seemed that I did work harder than what I do when I stay at a steady pace. Maybe this is the missing piece for me. Maybe my body is so used to what I normally do when I do cardio that I don't see any results. LET'S HOPE THIS IS IT!!! Tonight I did intervals on the treadmill and have watched what I have eaten so far this week. I am hoping for some sort of movement on the scale on Monday.
On another workout note. I am going to be trained by a great trainer this weekend!! No, it is not Bob Harper, but a close second. Paul Holm!!!! I am hoping he has some fun workouts that will shake these pounds off!!! I want to be able to move my ticker tape you know!!!!!
One other thing I learned at the gym is that you always see people crank up the incline and hang on while walking, I do this all the time. This is unrealistic, you should go at a lower speed and higher incline and not hold on. As our "trainer Darlene' said " what hill are you ever going to walk that has a rope or something else for you to hang on to"? Good point!!!! Light bulb just came on!!

Not seeing results
I must say I don't know what is wrong with me, I am just not seeing results in this weight loss adventure that I am on. I ask myself daily, "what am I doing wrong"? The first week of the Get Fit program we weighed in, the 2nd week I stayed the same with my weight, the 3rd week I went up 2lbs and this week I was down 1/2 pound. In week 3 my whole group was feeling the same dis-satisfaction that I was and we all seemed to be discouraged. After all, they are promoting 10lbs in 10 weeks. This week, there were only 3 of us at the meeting out of the 8 that started. 2 of us were discouraged and the 3rd lady was the inspirational one telling us to give it time. I shared my frustrations, the trainer said that I have killer workouts but I am not eating enough!! Are you really kidding me. I have been putting all my foods into the diary even when we eat out and I drink beer and I think there has only been once that I have gone over the calorie allowance. I can have between 1385-1885 calories a day. I was staying on the lower end but she told me I have to try and get on the high end for this week. Not a good week to try, I was cautious on Monday to stay on the low end, Tuesday I was sick, and today I still don't feel the best and had a crappy day at work. Normally when I have a crappy day I eat, today I didn't want anything. Weird!!! My boss told me to have a beer tonight and let things blow over, great I don't have any and I am far to lazy to go get some. Good thing or I would be calling in sick tomorrow. haha!!! I know there is no quick and easy weight loss solution but come on can I just have a sign that the adventure will get better. How about a 3lb loss for the week, or at this point I would even take one!! Next week is the half way point and all I have done is gain 1.5lbs!!! Not what I was hoping for!

Week one of Get Fit
I love this!! So I had to post it.
I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." Marilyn Monroe...
On to the purpose to this post. I started the Get Fit at the Y on January 11th. It is a lot of work tracking all your foods into their computer program, but you can learn alot so hopefully it will pay off. I didn't realize that we had to weigh in each week, so that is another plus. I did not lose any weight the first week but I did not gain any either so that is a plus. What I learned about my food is that I eat way to much salt/sodium. The RDA is 1500mg, some days I was 4000-5000mg. This is NOT GOOD. That seemed to be the consensus with the whole group. This week one of our tasks is to monitor sodium more and try to get all "A's" for the week. Yes, this program grades you. One of our other tasks was to take a mind/body class. yoga? Are you kidding me? I sucked it up last night and took the Body Flow class it is a combination of Tai Chi, yoga and Pilate's, with relaxation and meditation at the end. The instructor made me be in the front of the class, I almost left. I found that I actually enjoyed it and will try to continue to go. The only thing that I HATED was I had to use one of their mats and the fact that bare feet had been on it prior to me totally grossed me out. You have to take your shoes and socks off for this class, which is just gross to me. I HATE FEET!!!!!! I will have to invest in a cheap mat.
Last night was a LONG night at the gym, I did the Body Flow from 5:30-6:30 then did 20 minutes on the elliptical then did Body Pump from 7:10-8:10. I was so ready to come home. Might I add that in the Body Flow class their was a lady that was 9 months pregnant, hoping to have the baby any day and in Body Pump the instructor was 8 months pregnant. What, are you kidding me? This just goes to show these classes can be done by anyone!!!!!!
