WELL, WELL, WELL
Where have I been? Let me tell you!! Up to NO GOOD!! There, I have said it. Monday I did go to the gym and had a good eating day. Tuesday and Wednesday were both 16 hour days, therefore no exercise and poor, not bad just poor eating choices. Is there really a difference between poor and bad, I would like to think so, however I can't tell you how to distinguish the two. Thursday that was actually and ok day, I didn't feel good so I ate smaller portions, which included stuffing made from a ww recipe that I must say was not the "real" thing. Won't do that again. Friday, I started out ok, I went to the gym and then hit some stores. BAD IDEA, super long lines. Friday was my husbands birthday so we went out with friends for supper and some drinks. Need I say more........... Yes, beer did overtake my brain. With that said Saturday was not hell but pretty close to it. I would feel good for awhile then back to crap. This lead to eating greasy food in hopes of finding a cure for my self induced misery. Plus there was no way I was going to workout. Sunday started off good and went downhill because I didn't plan. How do I feel about this. Not the best, but I sure did have fun on Friday. I had some more bad news this past week as well, my 19 year old cousin was diagnosed with cancer. That was a hard hit and contributed to my downfall as well. What is in store for this week. NORMALCY!!!! I will be back at it and it will feel GOOD!!!!! P.S I need to get some blogs read for extra inpiration!!!!

Channeling the tears
Some days are just "bad days". I did really well on Monday on my 40 days of fitness fun plan, I did 55 minutes on the elliptical, ate my veggies, drank my water and had a planned out lunch and supper. Now on to Tuesday, this was a horrible day, I had a planned out lunch at work, I drank my water then hit the road to the gym. On the way to the gym I got a text from by brother saying his wife's cancer was back. What? Not the results we were hoping for. I only did 35 minutes on the elliptical that is all I had in me. I came home and had a planned out supper, but failed to eat any veggies with it. After supper I called a friend who had left me a message to call her as soon as I could. More bad news one of my past co-workers from ND had passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55. So sad! Today I am not going into work until 3 so that means I got to sleep in, which I really needed. I got up and was still feeling sad and in shock over my friend. I did not want to go to the gym or do anything this morning. After a hour or so I decided the best way to channel the tears and sadness would be with exercise. I did the Shred DVD then headed to the gym where I did 15 minutes on the elliptical and 50 minutes on the treadmill. It felt good to exercise I think that is exactly what I needed today!!!

40 days of fitness fun
I am hoping for 40 days of fitness fun, however I am sure it all won't be FUN!! My plan might seem simple to some but these are some areas where I struggle so here goes.
1)Eat breakfast daily
2)Eat something every 3-4 hours, this one will hopefully prevent me from binging when I get home from work. Instead of eating when I am hungry I will wait, then I am starving so nothing is safe or off limits when I hit that mode.
3)Eat Vegetables and Fruit everyday. My hope is that I will get all my servings of fruits and vegetables in for the day, but I will start slow by saying "eat them everyday".
4)DRINK, DRINK, DRINK, WATER, that is!! (haha not beer. I lack doing this and why? Iam not sure it is one of the simplest things to do!!!
5)Continue to go to the gym, but up the workouts in intensity and duration. Lately I will have a few good days in a row where I will do an hour of cardio and then it dwindles down to only a half hour towards the end of the week. Along with doing cardio, I will do weights of some sort 3 times a week. This can include the Body Pump class, or the Shred DVD. This is where my focus really needs to be.
6)I will be more mindful of the amount of sugar I consume, fake or real.
7) I will plan my meals!! PREPARE!!
This is my plan, I had planed to make myself a little chart today but I didn't get it done so I will work on that this week. I am a visual person so seeing little accomplishments will help keep me on track.
Today for breakfast I had an egg with salsa in a half a ww pita and a an orange , for lunch veggie soup and a ham & turkey sand with ww cheese on a half a ww pita. Supper was chicken pockets. (chix mixed with laughing cow cheese bake in a crescent rolls), steamed mixed veggies, a tablespoon of alfredo noodles and some pineapple. I have had 5 glasses of water and a hot chocolate today. I would say I am off to a good start. I did half hour on the elliptical at the gym today as well.
Hoping for a Happy Monday!!!

Tis the Holiday Season
The holidays are just around the corner, 14 days until Thanksgiving and 43 days until Christmas Eve to be exact. Wow, they are coming up fast. I am still working on doing a challenge for myself. My plan is to start on Sunday Nov 13 and end December 23rd. This will give me 40 days of action!!!! I will let you know on Sunday what my plan of action is going to be. I didn't focus on food this past week and ate what I wanted, I didn't lose weight but I think my head is lighter. I feel like my brain isn't always in overdrive wondering if what I am eating is a good choice. Don't get me wrong I did make some unhealthy choices. One thing I know I need to work on and will be in my challenge is eating on a schedule of some kind. I still struggle with breakfast, have lunch at 10:30 then eat crap around 3:30 because I am so hungry and feel guilty about it later.
Today I had the day off so I checked out 2 of the P90X dvd's,(borrowed from Gym Girl, thank-you) (Ab Ripper and Shoulders/Arms) Let's just say it was hard, very hard, but in a good way. Then I went to the gym and did 35 minutes on the elliptical. I had done 55 minutes on the elliptical last night so my legs were really sore today. I did make an AWESOME PUMPKIN SMOOTHIE this morning. HERE IT IS COMPLIMENTS OF HUNGRY GIRL. Yummy!!!www.hungry-girl.com
1/2 cup canned pure pumpkin
4 oz. Diet Snapple Peach Iced Tea (I used Dt Tropa Rocka Snapple Tea)
4 oz. Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze
cinnamon, nutmeg and/or pumpkin pie spice (to taste)
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Splenda (to taste)
The changing ingredient is 1 tbsp. of some sort of vanilla protein powder (Jay Robb's Whey Protein rocks!) OR 3 oz. of fat-free vanilla yogurt. And sometimes I'll throw in a splash of Torani Sugar Free Syrup in Brown Sugar Cinnamon. I just toss all of the ingredients in a blender with lots of crushed ice (about a cup and a half of it) and blend it all for about a minute. YUM -- this smoothie is so good, I can't stand it! And, the most amazing part is that it only has about 100 - 120 calories, depending on exactly what you choose to put in it -- and it is SUPER-filling! Try one of these no-name peachy pumpkin drinks and you will be HOOKED. I can almost guarantee it!
Happy Hour tomorrow, this is the make up one from when I was sick, so there won't be any gym and because I know myself so well I will not make good food choices. We are suppose to get snow on Saturday and Sunday, if that happens I will get some of my exercise in shoveling the drive way!!!!!

Taking the focus off Food
My brain goes hay wire when I try hard to figure out what I should be eating, how much and when. My friend tells me that I focus way to much on food. I am the one at work that people come to when they want to know if they should eat this or that. Today I told my friend that I bought some White Chocolate Mudslide coffee creamer, and she said "are you really going to have it, can you have it, is it good for you"? I said "a little won't hurt if it is used in moderation", ( or taken to work where it will get used even if my name is BOLDLY written all over it, that will keep the calories down). What I realized after she got done asking all those questions is that I must sound like that CONSTANTLY. How in the heck can that be healthy? It's not, I must find a balance. I know this, The problem is I try to eat healthy but what happens is I limit myself to what I can have then I binge. Since my birthday I have tried to stay on track and make good choices but it hasn't gone as I had planned, well planned in my head that is. I have been eating what everyone else is eating and eating when I am hungry. What do you know the scale was down 1 pound. I must also add last week I think I made it to the gym twice. Holy cats I am lazy, but the scale was down. I am going to continue to eat like this for one more week and see what happens. Of course I know I need to pay a little more attention to sugar and carbs.
I DVR'd a couple of workouts on Fit TV this morning with the intention of "checking them out/do them" tonight. However I went to the gym and did cardio and when I got home I didn't feel like doing them. From past experience I know I need to do them first then go to the gym. I will shoot for that the next couple of days.
I want to come up with a challenge for myself for the holiday season I am just not sure what I want to do. I must get on that the holiday's are just around the corner. I will keep you posted on what I come up with!!!!!!!!

GLOOMY
GLOOMY that is how I feel. I was doing well the 1st week following the "Your Inner Skinny" diet plan. Then my birthday happened. I had a great weekend, family, friends, beer, cake, chips. I had it all!! I had so much fun and was so relaxed.
On Monday it was back to reality!!! I am struggling to get back on track with the plan, why? Because I have not taken time "to plan". The weather is crappy, I don't want to go to the store to get "real food", it is cold and windy and I don't want to go to the gym when I get off work. I feel overwhelmed and stressed with decisions I need to make personally and professionally. What do I do to motivate myself?

Can this be REAL??
I am on my second week of the Your Inner Skinny diet plan. I am not following it to a T, for one reason I did not plan. I started last Monday and when I weighed on Monday I was down 1 pound!!! What do you know my scale does move, sometimes!!! I am happy with this! However I have no expectations for this week. Friday is my birthday and we are having a "happy hour" (or hours) at our house starting at 7. I know that I will have beer and chips. I could make a bunch of healthy stuff but honestly my friends and co-workers wouldn't enjoy that, nor would I, so why waste the money. Who wants carrot sticks and celery with beer? I am going to make some buffalo chili!!! Yummy. We are also going to have family in town for the weekend. My plan is to make the best choices I can through out the weekend. It feels really good to say that I am OK with this. I don't want to be all stressed and uptight thinking should I eat or drink this or that. I want to have fun!!!! I am defiantly ready for some!!!
I did 5 miles on the treadmill in 60 minutes on Monday, Tuesday I skipped the gym and tonight I did 40 minutes on the elliptical. I am ok with this!!!!
The end of last week and the beginning of the this week have been tough. My cousin had her baby, she was about a month early and weighed 4lbs(something), she is still in the hospital but doing well and getting stronger everyday. My sister in-law lost a co-worker unexpectedly she had worked with her for 21plus years. I found out today my uncle was taken to the ER and had a stint put in his heart today. These are just 3 examples of why there are way more important things in life than a number on a scale!!!! Little self reflection never hurts, I am learning to be more thankful for my health everyday!!!
