Friday Fitness

Wow, Friday what at day. I had to meet with my trainer at 10:30 so I decided that I would check out this "core class" it was for 20 minutes. It was a waste of time, it was right after a cycling class so most of those people stayed in there, the instructor was not welcoming at all and it was just sit ups, the plank and doing the bike movement on the floor. Thank- you but I can do all of that in my living room without anyone watching me!!!! Good to know for next time, not going again!!!

Then off to meet with Stacey, she worked out a plan where I only do arms one day, 4 machines, abs one day, 4 exercises and legs another 4 exercises. I had her break it down for me into little amounts that I could do each day, thus maybe I will do them. I think that I really can stick to this plan and follow it. I have a little "log book" to take with me to track my progress. I have not been taking this with me, that would be why I feel overwhelmed, as to what I am suppose to do. I trust that I will remember all the machines I need to do for one day and the weight I use for all of them and what their set ups are for me. NOT!!! So my handy dandy tracker with inspirational quotes is once again along for the ride!!!!!

I talked to Stacey about the New Leaf test that I did and told her that I want to be done with it and that I am frustrated in seeing no weight loss results, even though I admitted to her that I haven't been doing the strength training part, her advice was finish it, which I was going to anyway then retest and see the improvements that I've made. She said that just because I didn't see weight loss doesn't mean I didn't improve from where I started. When I retest it will kick out another plan to follow that will keep making me stronger and faster, or so she says. I always was going to retest but I don't know that I want to follow another plan, sometimes I just want to go to the gym jump on a machine and not have to think about where my heart rate is or how many minutes I am at that heart rate before I have to move to a higher or lower one. We will see!!

At 5:30 I went back to the gym and did the Body Pump class, it wasn't as packed as I thought it would be so it was good, I really like the instructor Mell, but she only teaches Friday nights so it is hard for me to get to her class unless I am off. Then right after that I went to the Cardio Kickboxing class!!! Yes I did!!! My friend Trevor and his wife Paula joined me!! Thanks guys!! This class was super fun, but really intense. I thought I was going to die!!! I swear I don't think I could do one more squat then kick in a row if I had to is 40 not enough!!!!! Very full, there were 67 people crammed in the studio. The instructor said she likes the studio vs the gym because of the mirrors. Of course you would!!! I am going to try and get to that class on Friday nights if I can, sometimes work screws my plans up.

One thing that made me mad about that class is this one lady, I am standing next to the wall before it starts filling up (this is the same room as body pump so I just stayed in there) waiting for Trevor. She puts a bottle of water on the floor next to her kid to save a spot for her husband. I should mention that we were in the back row right by the door. So as people start to show up and it starts getting fuller we start having to move forward. Just little steps for me, as you know I am not going to be in the front of the room. I hear her whisper to her friend "that lady keeps moving up, doesn't she know the water bottle is there for a reason". " What, I know you are talking about me". "Game on" I just keep moving up. The class starts and oh, her husband never does show up and the instructor moves the water bottle!!!!! She is so mad!! What does she expect. Before in body pump a few people came late so one guy grabs a mat and puts it down on an open spot on the floor then goes to get his weights "this is after we already started" when a regular lady shows up late and takes his spot, she says to her friend, "who is in my spot"? "not anymore". I was shocked, how rude. I hate it when people act like that.

Friday was a very good workout day, I should also mention that after the cardio class there was my husband at the gym!! He did 1 mile walking and 7 on the bike!!! Good Job!!!!!!

Here is the bad part, we get home and we are both starving!!!! You guessed it, we ate bad stuff!!! Actually I had two mozzarella sticks from TGI Fridays, made her at home 100 calories a piece, didn't look at the fat and a small piece of pizza. It was just a small pizza to start with so it only made 4 pieces so it really wasn't that big of a piece, then a skinny cow ice cream sandwhich. I know all that work, then crap!!!!!! That is what I do best. I can only seem to do one thing at a time but when it comes to putting it together I fail!!! Cardio, good, mixed with weights not happening, good day at gym, great, good eating habits that day, horrible!!! How do I find a way to put this all together? Why does my brain short circuit when it comes to this!!! I know what I need to do but can't put it all together? I swear the scale better move this week!!!!

  1. OK, you can give a girl a chance to catch up-I didn't seem to have time to exercise this week, and I had a hard time finding time to even post a comment-what's wrong with me? was home sick Wed and Thursday last week and then threw my back out-and no I wasn't 'exercising with my husband' at the time. I simply bent over over to grab a pair of sweats from the bottom drawer and whamo-click threw my back out. Friday I went to work, but was still miserable from my cold, my back and the bad news of my friend's tragic death. So no exercise for me.
